Accommodation overlooking River Douro at renowned Quinta de la Rosa winery (guided tours, tastings and shop). Pinhao village 2km with local shops, restaurants and bars, otherwise very quiet. More shops in Vila Real or Alijo, about 30 mins drive

At the top of the property are 3 bedrooms, one double (room 2) and 2 twins (rooms 1 and 3), all with ensuite shower rooms, air conditioning and views over the river.

On the level below is the Clara suite with double bed and a single in the anteroom. The bathroom is below, down narrow stairs. All rooms air conditioned and off the main bedroom is a small terrace overlooking the river and with Pinhao village in the distance

Below Clara and with separate access are 2 twin bedrooms (Juliet and Sofia), both with bathrooms ensuite and sharing a balcony over the river. Not air conditioned but fans provided. There is an extra room next door with four beds which can be rented by clients with children

Then below again, with separate access and parking is the Baixo suite, which has two rooms, one with twin beds and the other with a small bed, plus bathroom cut into the rock. The suite is not air conditioned but the rooms are always cool. There is a terrace in front overlooking the river

Guests' sitting/dining room with TV. Breakfast included, dinner by arrangement. Terrace with tables and chairs and views of river and valley. Use of swimming pool

Surrounding countryside is mountainous and one of the most attractive and least spoilt areas anywhere. Plenty to see and do: Roman remains, picturesque railway trips, castles, palaces, walks, picnic spots

Please note that the property has many steps due to its different levels. Cot available on first come first served basis. Linen (except beach/pool towels) provided. Arrive 1600, depart 1000. Minimum booking 3 nights or 2 nights if you are staying at another of our properties on nightly tariffs.

The maximum occupancy allowable (assuming extra beds are available) is also shown.

Age restrictions apply at some properties (either at the owner's request or because on inspection we judged them necessary) and are indicated accordingly. 'Infant' or 'baby' means 3 years or less, 'child' more than 3 years to 12 years and 'adult' more than 12 years.

Bookings are accepted subject strictly to these requirements and the party arriving at the property must conform with them.
